David E. Kelly

U.S. Veteran

David Eugene Kelly, 65, of Taneytown, Maryland died unexpectedly Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home. Born November 27, 1947 in Thurmont, he was the son of Betty Kelly of Emmitsburg and the late Ralph Kelly. He was the husband of Erin Connors Kelly, his wife of 28 years.

David worked as a postal carrier and police officer for the United States Postal Service for many years. He worked for ten years at Worthington Pump Company, now Flowserve. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Emmitsburg. He had a passion for deer hunting and spending time with his family and hunting buddies.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are daughter, Diana Ellis and husband, Robert, of Port Orchard, WA; sons, Ralph Kelly and wife, Tonia, of Westminster, and Martin Kelly and wife, Debbie, of Fayetteville, PA; sister, Sharon Adams and husband, S. Roger Adams, Jr. of Emmitsburg; 6 grandsons, 3 step-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Larry Eby officiating. Inurnment will be 10.a.m. Monday at Grace U.C.C. Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-7 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
