Carol Lee Martz, 70, of Taneytown, MD died Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.  Born March 4, 1946 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Hazel (Whitehead) Alfred.  She was the wife of the late Roger Martz.

Carol was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for many years at Springfield State Hospital in Sykesville.  She enjoyed listening to music, doing craft work, cooking, collecting angel figurines, and watching horror movies.  She was an accomplished bowler, a lover of classic cars, and an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.  More than anything, Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are son, Adam Martz and fiancé Patty Kingan of Taneytown; daughter, Terrie Carter and husband Joseph Carter, Jr. of Glenville, PA; sisters, Barbara Keeney and Lena Bornstein, both of Finksburg; brothers, Ralph Alfred and wife Linda of Finksburg, and Chris Alfred of Washington, D.C.; granddaughter, Eaden Sheetz and husband John of Finksburg; great-grandsons, Hudson and Hunter Sheetz; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2016 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with the Rev. Stephen White officiating.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
