Charles E. Myers, Jr., 82, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Ministries in Emmitsburg.

          Born August 10, 1934 in Union Mills, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles E. Myers, Sr. and Helen (Erb) Myers.  He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy F. (Krug) Myers in 2002.

          Charles enjoyed attending auctions and spending time with his family.  He loved working as a greeter at the Gettysburg Wal-Mart.

          Surviving are children and spouses, John Myers and wife Judy of Gettysburg, Linda Pecher and husband Bruce of Fairfield, Rick Myers and wife Gwen of Fairfield, Terry Myers and wife Tara of Fairfield, Tammy Eiker and husband John of Emmitsburg, Candy Sharer and husband Robert of Fairfield, and Carolyn Kelly and companion Todd Walling of Fairfield; sisters, Betty Hughes and husband William of Hanover, and Shirley Underwood of CA; brothers, James Myers and wife Margaret of N.C., and Richard Myers of New Oxford; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

          He was predeceased by siblings, Kenneth, Ruth, and Elmer Myers.

          The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 9-11 a.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD.  A private graveside service will follow in New St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Emmitsburg with Rev. John J. Holliday, C.M. officiating.

          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, MD  21727.
