Doris Larue McGlaughlin, 82, of Gettysburg, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at The Meadows of Gettysburg in Gettysburg, PA, surrounded by her loving family.  Born March 4, 1935 in Taneytown, MD, she was the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Null) Stonesifer.  She was the wife of John David McGlaughlin, to whom she was married for 59 years.

Doris was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She enjoyed traveling, assisting her husband John delivering Meals on Wheels to area shut-ins, and collecting cats, both live and ceramic.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters, Rebecca McGlaughlin of Gettysburg, PA, and Cathy McGlaughlin and boyfriend Jason Belcher of Chambersburg, PA; granddaughters, Tanya Ellen and Kim Ann; great-grandson, Troy Allen; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Baker McGlaughlin Holt of Taneytown; brother-in-law, Dennis McGlaughlin, and sister-in-law, Susan Sanders, both of Emmitsburg; 2 nieces and a nephew.  She was predeceased by son, Dale Allen McGlaughlin; sister-in-law, Patty McGlaughlin; brother-in-law, James Sanders; and nephew, Kermie McGlaughlin..

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, 21787.  Burial will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help defray final expenses may be made to the funeral home at the above address.
