Eric Alan Brauning, 47, of Taneytown, MD died on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 as the result of a farming accident.  Born January 23, 1970 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of E. Gordon Brauning and the late Shirley (Reaver) Brauning.   He was the devoted husband of Tinia (Warner) Brauning, to whom he was married for 22 years, and the proud father of Abigail Rose Brauning.

            Eric was a farmer.  He loved the outdoors and life on the farm.  He was a dedicated employee of Stateline Gas in McKnightstown, PA for many years.  He was a member of Taneytown United Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder.  He was an avid Elvis Presley fan and also enjoyed listening to country music.  He loved Chevy trucks and John Deere tractors!  Eric always had a smile on his face and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

            Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife Tinia, his father, and his daughter are his brother, Eugene Brauning of Westminster; half-brother, Brad Brauning and wife Diane of Taneytown; step-sisters, Beverly Anthony and husband Steve of Taneytown, Tina Gollings and husband Richie of Taneytown, and Kim Kurtz and husband Bill of Keymar; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Peggy Warner of Taneytown; brother-in-law, Maurice Warner and wife Tiffany of Taneytown; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

            A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, 21787, with Pastor Steven Ostendorf officiating.  Interment will follow in Grace UCC Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday morning.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eric’s name may be made to Grace United Church of Christ at the above address, or to Taneytown United Presbyterian Church, 30 York St., Taneytown, MD, 21787.
