Mary “Mar” Stevenson, 61, of Taneytown, MD died Monday, August 29, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.  Born March 28, 1955 in Carmi, IL, she was the daughter of the late Robert Cavey.  She was the devoted partner of Thomas Heffernan.

Mar was a computer specialist and bookkeeper for the Westminster Recovery Center for several years.  She enjoyed creating jewelry, reading, and spending time with friends.  She loved growing and tending plants and was known to have a green thumb.

Surviving in addition to her long-time companion, Tom, is devoted friend, Roslyn Gilligan of Westminster.  She will also be sadly missed by her pet dog Toby.  She was predeceased by her mother, who died when Mar was an infant.
