Michael Walter “Mickey” Major, 30, of Taneytown, MD, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, PA.  Born December 7, 1986 in Honduras, he was the beloved son of Michael Anthony and Karen (Campsie) Major.

Michael enjoyed listening to classical music, sharing his faith with others, and serving people.  He was known for his great sense of humor and his generosity.

Surviving in addition to his parents are sisters, Lara Eury and husband Eric of Butler, PA, and Katherine Nwachukwu and husband Joseph of Houston, TX; two nephews; and a niece.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, with Father John F. Lesnick as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  There will be no public visitation prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to A Mission of Mercy, 22 S. Market St., Frederick, MD, 21701.  Arrangements have been entrusted to MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Taneytown.
