Richard Allen Green, 59, of Emmitsburg, MD, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his aunt’s home in Dover, PA.  Born March 26, 1958 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Sarah (Trent) Green of Emmitsburg, and the late Harry J. Green, Sr.

Richard was a graduate of Rock Creek School in Frederick.  He worked in the Food Service Department of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg for several years.  He enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his family and friends, and participating in the Special Olympics swimming competition.  Richard loved meeting and talking with people, and made friends everywhere he went.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are sister, Rebecca Weaver, and brothers, Harry Green, Jr. and Thomas Green, all of Emmitsburg; nieces, Jennifer and Samantha Weaver of NC; and great-niece, Natasha Weaver.

A graveside inurnment and committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery, 9436 Waynesboro Pike, Emmitsburg, MD with the Rev. Jon R. Greenstone officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted to MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Emmitsburg.
