Virginia “Ginny” H. Newman, 71, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at her home.

          Born December 22, 1944 in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie (Harding) Barry.  She was the wife of Pastor H. Ray Newman.

          She was an orthopedic technician and retired in 2014.  She was a member of Clearfield Bible Church where she served on the Missions Board, Willing Workers group, and helped to lead the Women’s Bible study.  Ginny enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

          Surviving her in addition to her husband are children, Tommy Strogen of Glen Burnie, Jamie Strogen of FL, Debbie Dahl of Westminster, Jason Roth and wife Kriston of Laurel, and Stephen Roth of Mount Airy; step-children, Carey Newman and wife Katie of PA, Carin Palczewski and husband Aaron of Smithsburg, MD, and Chris Newman and wife Christi of VA; grandchildren, Tyler, Joshua, Jeremy, and Gracie; step-grandchildren, Jake, Autumn, Ashly, Brendan, Gia, Bradley, Julie, Katelyn, and Maddox.

          She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Barry.

          A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Clearfield Bible Church, 1303 Old Westminster Pike in Westminster with Chaplain Brit Fletcher officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.  Private interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.

          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clearfield Bible Church Missions Board, 1303 Old Westminster Pike, Westminster, MD  21157.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.
