Michael M. “Clap” Clapsaddle, 70, of Taneytown, MD died on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.  Born August 14, 1947 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of Daris Virginia (Kelly) Clapsaddle of Westminster and the late Charles Monroe Clapsaddle.  He was the devoted husband of Brenda (Clem) Clapsaddle.

Mike was a 911 Dispatcher/Supervisor with the Carroll County EOC for 38 years.  He was a life-member and past-president of the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Department.  He was affiliated with Messiah United Methodist Church in Taneytown.  Mike was an avid fan of NASCAR racing.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting trips with his friends, and playing cards on Friday nights.  He especially enjoyed camping with family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are aunt and uncle, Annabelle and Clinton L. Kelly, Jr. of Union Bridge; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Clapsaddle of Union Bridge, Linda Warehime and husband Karl of Westminster, and Jacqueline Badiang and husband Jolly of Taneytown; as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother, Steven Kelly Clapsaddle, and a nephew, Kelly Clapsaddle.     

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with the Rev. Patricia C. Dols officiating.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  The Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m.
