Truman "Sonny" W. Hamburg, Jr.

     Truman “Sonny” W. Hamburg, Jr., age 86, of Taneytown, MD, went home to the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife Ann Marie Hamburg, nee Myers and family. Born September 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Truman W. Hamburg, Sr. and Loraine May Elliot.

     Sonny was a long time employee of Lehigh Cement Company where he made lifelong friends. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown. He enjoyed woodworking, antiquing, refinishing furniture and spending time at the Taneytown Senior Center. He cherished the times spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

     Surviving are beloved wife of 65 years, Ann Marie Hamburg; children, Jayne Marie Hamburg, Elaine Hamburg Stromberg and husband James, and Wayne Hamburg. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; sister, Lois Poole and husband Charles.

     The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
