Catherine June Ripley, 83, of Keymar, Maryland, died on Monday, February 13, 2017 at her home.

          Born June 20, 1933 in Taneytown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Carrie Virginia (Dutterer) Reaver.  She was predeceased by her husband Allen Byrd Ripley in 2015.

          She was a graduate of Taneytown High School.  She worked for the Taneytown Rubber Factory and retired from Moores Business Forms in Thurmont.  She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown.  She enjoyed spending time with friends twice daily at the local McDonald’s coffee group.

          Surviving are a son, Randy Allen Ripley of Kamuela, Hawaii; grandsons, Colin and Cameron Ripley and Ryan Dane; brothers, Francis Reaver of Taneytown and Franklin Reaver of MD; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by siblings, Ralph, John, Kenny, and George Reaver, Helen McAvoy, Marion Ricker, Mable Johnson, Doris Hoffman, and Alice Copenhaver.

          A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with her pastor the Rev. Steven Ostendorf officiating.  Private burial will follow in Grace UCC Cemetery.

          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD  21787; Taneytown Vol. Fire Company, 39 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD  21787; or to the Humane Society of the U.S., 700 Professional Dr., Gaithersburg, MD  20879.

            Arrangements have been entrusted to the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
