Cecilia (Allen) Harlfinger

Cecilia Ann Harlfinger, 51, of Carlisle, PA passed away peacefully on July 4, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  Born June 7, 1967 in Laurel, MD, she was the daughter of Paul J. Allen of Taneytown, MD and the late JoAnn (Kelly) Allen.  She was the wife of Richard L. “Rick” Harlfinger III, to whom she was married for 32 years.

Cecilia was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where she attained the rank of Master Sergeant.  She retired after 20 years of service in Aircraft Maintenance.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Carlisle, PA and was active in parishes wherever she served.  She had a heart for those who were wounded or injured in service to our country, therefore was a life-member of Disabled American Veterans.  She enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, doing crafts and exploring family heritage.  More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving, in addition to her beloved husband Rick and her father Paul, are son, Richard L. Harlfinger IV and wife Chelsea of Carlisle, PA; daughter, Alicha M. Choffel and husband Andrew of Ogden, UT; brothers, Joseph B. Allen of Martinsburg, WV and Melvin D. Allen and wife Jean of Gettysburg, PA; grandchildren, Wesley Paul and Charlotte Ann Choffel; in-laws, Richard L. Harlfinger, Jr. and wife Patricia of Plympton, MA; as well as some nieces and nephews.   

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD 21787 with Father John F. Lesnick as celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. on Monday, July 9th at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.  A Rosary will be said between 7 and 7:30 p.m.
