Clyde "Tom" Weant

            Clyde Franklin “Tom” Weant, 79 of Taneytown died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at his home from complications related to Parkinson’s Disease.  Born January 15, 1939 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Catherine (Sauerwein) Weant.  He was the husband of Rhoda (Rohrbaugh) Weant, his wife of 52 years.

            Clyde was a 1957 graduate of Taneytown High School.  He was a dairy farmer in Carroll County, spending his entire life on the family farm.  He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown, a Carroll County and Maryland 4-H All-Star and a life-time member of the American Guernsey Association.

            Surviving, in addition to his wife Rhoda, are twin daughters, Karen Roberts and husband Dale and Kathy Stoner and husband Mike, all of Taneytown; step-children, Brian Graybill and wife Donna of Dover, PA, and Gary Graybill and wife Bernadette of Spring Grove, PA; step-son-in-law, Rick Barber of New Windsor; sister, Kathleen Krout of Littlestown, PA; brother-in-law, Robert Bollinger of Taneytown; 3 grandchildren, Austin, Marissa and Allison; 10 step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jennifer, Zachary, Amy, Corey, Justin, Matthew, Kyle, Natalie and Amanda; 21 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by sisters, Mildred Bollinger and Hazel Walker; step-daughter, Brenda Barber; grandson, Dylan Stoner; and step-grandson, Tony Graybill.   

            A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787 with the Rev. Cristopher Frigm officiating.  Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, August 12th  at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Monday.
