Dennis Reaver Obituary

Dennis Robert Reaver, 72, of Taneytown died peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.  Born February 4, 1946 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Earl Robert and Lacy Beatrice (Grabill) Reaver.  He was the husband of the late Rita Rose (Summers) Reaver, to whom he was married for 36 years.

Dennis was a graduate of the University Of Maryland School Of Pharmacy.  He was the head pharmacist at CVS in Taneytown for 17 years and had previously managed the Giant Food Store Pharmacy in Westminster.  He enjoyed his hobbies of racing pigeons, researching family genealogy, and breeding German Shepherds then Corgis.

Surviving are his children, Eric Reaver of Taneytown, Denise Davis and husband John of Harpers Ferry, WV, and David Reaver of Catonsville; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Lor’en Reaver, Nathaniel Jacob Reaver, John Joseph Davis, Jr., aka “Tripp” and Talia Byrd Davis.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown.  The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21st at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dennis’ name to The Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, 653 Winchester Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25401.
