Donald Michael Carl, 82, of Mayberry, MD died peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.  Born September 28, 1935 in Mayberry, he was the son of the late Lloyd Roosevelt and Blanche (Crum) Carl.  He was the devoted husband of the late Mary Marie (Frock) Carl, to whom he was happily married for 62 years.

Donald was a graduate of Taneytown High School, class of ’53.  He was a printer at Cambridge Rubber Company for more than 30 years.  He was a member of Mayberry First Church of God where he served as church custodian.  Donald loved working in the church and had formerly served as adult Sunday School teacher.  He was made Elder Emeritus and awarded life-time Elder status at the church.  He enjoyed tinkering with electrical and plumbing projects and raising vegetables in his garden for his family.  He had served as a Carroll County election judge in recent years.

Surviving are sons, David Carl and wife Kimberley of Taneytown, and Daniel Carl of Mayberry; daughter, Deborah Carl of Mayberry; grandsons, Timothy Carl and wife Keeley and Jonathan Carl and wife Emily, all of Taneytown, and Andrew Carl and fiancé Amanda Tyler of Littlestown, PA; great-grandchildren, Levi David, Lydia Marie and Braddock Michael; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, James and Judy Carl.

A joint funeral service for Donald and his wife Mary will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Mayberry First Church of God, 2428 Mayberry Rd., Westminster, MD, 21158 with Pastor Rob Wills officiating.  Burial will follow at the Church of God Cemetery in Uniontown.  The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24th at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
