Doris Marie Anderson

Doris Marie Anderson, 81, of Mayberry, MD passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at her home.  Born September 8, 1936 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George and Regina (Davis) List.  She was the wife of the late Robert Anderson.

Doris was an insurance underwriter for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for more than 30 years.  She was a member of St. Dominick Catholic Church in Baltimore.  Doris was an animal-lover extraordinaire.  She took in stray dogs and cats, rescuing scores of them throughout the course of her life.  

She is survived by nephews, James Hagerty and Michael Higgins of Mayberry, Regina Higgins of Perryville, and Diane Saltisak of CA.  She was predeceased by a brother, William List; sisters, Margaret Trainor and Elizabeth Higgins; and nephews, Michael Saltisak, and Thomas and Bernard Hagerty.  Doris will be sorely missed by her dogs, Sierra, Molly and Lovey, and her cat, Dr. Bombay. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD with Father John F. Lesnick as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  There will be no public visitation.  Arrangements have been entrusted to MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Taneytown.
