James Eldridge Lewis, 72, of Spring Grove, PA, formerly of Finksburg, MD died peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Hanover Hospital in Hanover, PA.
Born February 24, 1946 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Carlton E. and Virgie (Parks) Lewis. He was the husband of 35 years to Linda Darlene (Lambert) Lewis.
Jim worked for over 30 years for Carroll County in the roads and maintenance department retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Harvest Time Temple Church in Hanover, PA. He enjoyed watching old Western movies, Pro Wrestling, Games Shows and Soaps on T.V. He also enjoyed traveling, camping, listening to country music and attending church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Lisa and Sylvia; step-daughters, Jackie Martz of Hanover, PA, and Sherry Martin of Keymar; brother, Charles “Skip” Lewis and wife Martha of Westminster; sisters-in-law, Lucinda Curfman of New Windsor, Barbara Lambert and Ruth Lambert both of Westminster; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was pre-deceased by brother, John Lewis and infant son, Michael.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with his Pastor the Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 24th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
