Joseph Leon Hahn

Joseph Leon Hahn, 78, of Waynesboro, PA died on Friday, January 10, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  Born September 28, 1941 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Luther and Ida (Jacob) Hahn.  He was the husband of Sandra (Miller) Hahn, to whom he was married for 56 years.

Joe was a diesel mechanic for the United States Government.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, pitching horseshoes, woodworking, and spending time with his family.  He attended Jacob’s Church near Fairfield, PA.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Sandy, are daughters, Melissa Hahn and husband Doug of Ormond Beach, FL, and Dora Hawbecker and husband Kevin of Greencastle, PA; sisters, Helen McClain of Fairfield, PA, and Mary McGlaughlin and husband Mack of Sabillasville, MD; brother, James Hahn and wife Jane of South Mountain, PA; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son, Joseph Hahn, Jr., daughter, Brenda Hahn, and siblings, Luther, Ida Mae, Clarence, Lloyd, Dorothy, Ronald, Albert, George, Harry, Robert and Paul.

The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD.  A graveside service and burial will be private.
