Nancy Dolores (Dinterman) Grimes

September 21, 1941 ~ March 30, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Nancy Dolores Dinterman Grimes, 75, of Emmitsburg, MD, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Gettysburg Center.

Born on September 21, 1941 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Novella (Keilholtz) Dinterman.  She was the loving wife of Charles Frederick Grimes for 55 years.

On April 16, 1961, Nancy married Fred Grimes.  Together they raised four children and worked on their dairy farm outside of Emmitsburg.  Nancy enjoyed participating in the various activities at Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church.  She liked talking to people, reuniting with her classmates, writing letters and sending cards to family and friends.  When her grandchildren were younger, Nancy attended many of their concerts, dance recitals, award ceremonies, and cheered at their baseball games.  Fred and Nancy liked travelling on bus trips.  Nancy enjoyed family get-togethers the most, whether it was playing cards, pie-baking with brothers and sisters in the winter or hosting the annual Memorial day picnic in the summer.  Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at Genesis Nursing Home at Gettysburg for the great care she received.  Also thanks to all of those who visited, sent cards and prayed.  Thanks for your many acts of kindness.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Freda Boller and husband Terry of Emmitsburg, Eugene Grimes and wife Karen of Taneytown, Della Pierson and husband Richard of Littlestown, and Wesley Grimes and wife Leslie of Fairfield; grandchildren, Jessica Hoyt, Andrew and Benjamin Boller, and Rachel and Blake Pierson; brothers and sisters, Richard Dinterman and wife Jo of Keymar, Bill Dinterman and wife Regina, Gloria Frushour and husband Kenny, and Viv Martin and husband Jerry all of Rocky Ridge; sister-in-law, Betty Weber and husband Harry of Hummelstown, PA.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant sister, Ruth; and by a sister-in-law, Louise Shafer and her husband Paul.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church in Emmitsburg.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with her pastor the Rev. Heath Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Keysville Union Cemetery in Keymar.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Emmitsburg.
