Nicholas Alan “Nick” Putnam, 23, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in Shippensburg, PA.  Born November 5, 1989 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of Maurice Ray Putnam, Jr. and Arlene Hoff Putnam of Fairfield, PA.

Nick was a 2007 graduate of Chamberlain Hunt Military Academy in Port Gibson, MS and was a senior at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, PA.  He was employed at Office Depot in Newville, PA.

Surviving in addition to his parents are three half-siblings and a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.    

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, MD with the Rev. John J. Holliday, C.M. officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery columbarium. The family will receive friends Sunday, 4-6 p.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St, Emmitsburg, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mother Seton School Tuition Assistance Fund, 100 Creamery Rd, Emmitsburg, MD, 21727.
