Rolanda Lynn Morningstar, 60, of Taneytown, MD passed away Sunday June 25, 2017 at York Hospital in York, PA.  Born August 17, 1956 in Harford County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Ballard and Lanta Rebecca (Edmondson) Shirley.  She was the long-time companion and fiancée of John Kreit of Taneytown.

        Rolanda was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, farming, riding horses, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

        Surviving, in addition to her fiancé John, are daughter, Carrie Rosela of Chester, MD; sons, Jason Ollivett of Bel Air, MD, and Sam McNutt and fiancée Katie Rose of Forest Hill, MD; brothers, Roger Shirley and wife Louise of Churchville, MD, and Kenneth Shirley of Aberdeen, MD; sisters, Beverly Shepard and husband Harry of Berlin, MD, and Dee Dee Fisher of Edgewood, MD; grandchildren, Meghan, Allison, Kevin, Lisa, Taylor, and Sam; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by granddaughter Julianne Rosela.

        A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taneytown.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
