Ronald "Ronnie" G. Long

Ronald (Ronnie) G. Long, 62, of Graceham died on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. 

Born on January 2, 1956 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Betty (Pryor) Long.  Ronnie was the beloved husband of 39 years to Donna Stahley Long. 

Ronnie was the successful and hardworking owner of Long's construction for many years.  He loved playing Golf with friends and according to his golf buddies, was sometimes really great at the game and sometimes-well-just OK.  Ronnie was a kind and generous man with integrity and a warm smile for everyone and was so well liked that friends and family alike say he had no enemies. He was lucky enough to marry the love of his life, Donna, who he had known for over 44 years. But, Ronnie's favorite activity of all was playing with his Grandson, Chase who called Ronnie "Pap Pap"! 

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Ashley Atkins and husband Chad (who he loved like a son) of Sabillasville; grandson, Chase Atkins and a baby granddaughter expected in March; brothers, Mark Long and wife Jill of Emmitsburg, and Kevin Long and wife Pam of Thurmont; sister, Linda Lingg and husband Bobby of Thurmont, sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and John Spinelli of FL, Denny and Phyllis Stahley of Emmitsburg, and Jane Shorb of Thurmont; special friends, Frank Davis (his golf partner) and Wayne Hooper; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Rita Stahley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Graceham Moravian Church, 8231 Rocky Ridge Rd. Thurmont with Rev. Sayward Lippincott (Ron’s cousin) officiating.  A reception will follow the service at the Emmitsburg Ambulance Co. building.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends on Sunday February 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
