Sarah Alberta (Conti) Eyler

Sarah Alberta Eyler, 98, of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Gettysburg, PA and Framingham, MA, died peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Gilchrist Hospice in Baltimore.  Born October 25, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Ottavio and Sarah Geneva (Moore) Conti.  She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Mervin Snyder Eyler, to whom she was married for almost 64 years.  He passed in 2005.

Alberta was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and pastor’s wife.  She enjoyed travel (to every continent) and flower gardening. She took great pleasure in caring for others.

Surviving are her four children, Randolph Eyler and wife Katherine of CA and WA, Cynthia Eyler of Baltimore, Jane Eyler and husband Timothy Moriarty of Framingham, MA, and Mervin Eyler II and wife Inma Noguera of Valencia, Spain; grandchildren, Jennifer, Suzanne, David, Ethan, Olivia, Amelia, Sergi and Daniel; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by all 5 of her siblings, Thomas, Evelyn, Florence, Vincent and Vera.   

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Mt. Joy Lutheran Church, 2615 Taneytown Rd., Gettysburg, PA, with the Rev. Faye Snyder and the Rev. Peter Naschke officiating.  Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Arrangements have been entrusted to MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Taneytown.
