Thomas G. Wilkins, Sr.

         Thomas G. Wilkins, Sr., 85, of Finksburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at home.

         Born December 5, 1932 in Johnston City, N.C., he was the son of the late Garland and Ida (Starling) Wilkins.  He was the loving and devoted husband of 63 years to Marilyn R. (Geare) Wilkins.

         Tom was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing the guitar.  He owned and operated his own business known as Putty Hill Television Repair.  He also operated a side line repairing  guitar amps known as “The Old Pro”.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.  He enjoyed attending flea markets, yard sales, and playing Pictionary.  He deeply loved his family and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

         Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Thomas G. Wilkins, Jr. and wife Teresa of New Oxford, PA; daughter, Deborah A. Hudgins and husband James of Gettysburg, PA; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. 

         From a family of nine siblings, Tom was the last survivor.

         The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. noon until the time of a memorial Prayer Service at 1:00 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD with Deacon Joe Cinquino officiating.  Burial will be private.  Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home.  The family wishes to thank the many friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness and concern especially Tom's dear friends Tony Richardson and Bill Fortin.

         In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.
