Albinus "Bine" Ochs Jr.

Albinus (Bine) Ochs, Jr. of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away on July 27, 2026, at his home in Thurmont (Lewistown), Maryland.

Born in Huefner, Pennsylvania, on March 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Albinus and Winifred (Schmader) Ochs. He married the former Janet Fitzgerald on August 27, 1966, and she survives in Thurmont, Maryland.

Bine graduated from Saint Joseph Parochial School in Lucinda, PA, and Dubois Business School, Dubois, PA. He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard.

Bine worked at Ochs Lumber Company in Lucinda, PA, from a young age. For years, he managed their office. After moving to Maryland, Bine worked for several retail lumber yards before retiring from N.Z. Cramer and Son in Woodsboro, MD, in June 2021.

He was a member of Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Frederick, MD.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Molly Ochs and Emily Ochs (Michael Muller), and sons, James (Tracy) Ochs and Joseph (Lori) Ochs; eight grandchildren, Christian Pensiero, Preston Ochs, Patrick Ochs, Luke Ochs, Miranda Ochs, Matthew (Kim) Valles-Ochs, William Ochs, and Abigail Ochs; great-granddaughters: Eleanor and Violet Pensiero, step grandchildren: Rebecca (Steve) McGill, and Courtney (Zach) Fary, Brady Clifford, Ella Grace Clifford, and Sophia Clifford; and step-great-grandchildren: Kyra Fary, Bryson Fary, Cody McGill, and Rhylee McGill.

Bine is also survived by his brother, Michael (Cathy) Ochs; brother-in-law, Paul Schwabenbauer; sisters-in-law Christine Ochs, Elaine Ochs, Patricia Gatesman, and Mary (Jim) Harkless; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bine was preceded in death by his brothers, Nelson Ochs and Dave Ochs, and sisters, Elsie Schwabenbauer, Lucille (Susie) Griebel, and Joan McCloskey.

There was no visitation.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Saturday, August 1, 2026, and he was laid to rest in Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery.
