Amy (Houck) Ott

Amy Elizabeth Ott, 41, of Hedgesville, WV, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.  Born March 10, 1979 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of Marc E. Houck (Cindy) of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Vickie (Claybaugh) Triplett (Robbie) of Littlestown, PA.  She was the beloved wife of Shawn Ott, Sr., to whom she was married for 20 years.

Amy was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, class of ’97.  She worked as an office clerk at the Proctor & Gamble Company in Martinsburg, WV.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the river, watching Shawn, Jr.’s football and basketball games, and collecting things that pertained to dolphins and butterflies.

Surviving, in addition to her husband Shawn and her parents, are her son, Shawn Ott, Jr.; sisters, Tammy Varner (Doug) of Mapleton Depot, PA, and Angela Llewellyn (Brad) of Hanover, PA; step-brothers, Edward Rigg (Heather) of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Will Triplett of Westminster; step-sister, Geri Rigg of Shippensburg, PA; mother-in-law, Delphine Ott of Greencastle, PA; brothers-in-law, John Ott of Chambersburg, PA, and Chris Ott (Becky) of Gettysburg, PA; maternal grandfather, George Clabaugh (Gloria) of Littlestown, PA; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by maternal grandmother, Elta Faye Claybaugh; and paternal grandparents, James Aubrey Houck, Sr. and Mary Jean Houck.

The family will receive friends 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD.  A graveside service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:30 p.m. at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery.
