Ann Marie Simmons

Ann Marie Simmons, 94, of White Plains, MD, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born September 20, 1930, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late James Clement Conway and Helen Marie Quill Conway.

Ann worked as a secretary for the Federal Government for over 20 years.

A devout catholic, she attended her church every week. She greatly enjoyed spending time outside in the summer sun, tending to her house plants, dance, and never missed an episode of her favorite soap operas. Her favorite time of year was Christmas season; loving decorating the house, tree, and most of all, gift giving. Spreading joy and love through gifting was one of her specialties, not reserved only for Christmas, but throughout the year. She had a deep love of family, and had a hand in raising all her grandchildren. She was very generous, and she always kept the best snacks stocked in her cabinet for the grandkids.

Surviving is Ann’s son, Jeff Stephen Herring and wife Theresa; grandchildren, Marcia Marinaccio and husband Joey, Meghan McGowan and husband Bob, and Allison, and Jamie Herring; great-grandchildren, Mark, and Miranda Marinaccio; and several nieces and nephews. Ann is predeceased by children, Monica Myers, and Mark Herring; and siblings, Jim Conway, and Bernadette “Debbie” Herath.

A funeral mass will be held on August 14, 2025, 11:00 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4590 Saint Joseph Way, Pomfret, MD 20675, with Rev. Harry J. Stokes, Jr. officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A., Taneytown.
