Betty Victoria Scheller

Betty Victoria Scheller, 91 of Taneytown Maryland passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, at Golden Crest assisted living, Westminster Maryland.

Born on March 27th, 1935, to the late Dorothy Fair and late George Fair. She was adopted at age 4 by the late Carrie Hahn Koons and late Roland Koons.

Betty was married to the late Frederick "Fred" Gilmore Scheller for 72 years. She was the loving mother of Steve Scheller and wife Debbie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Debra Keith of Taneytown, MD, Mike Scheller and wife Gail of Hanover, PA and Mark Scheller and wife Tonya of Ocala, FL; cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by sister Maxine Pat Kennedy and husband Herbert and brother Thomas "Buzz" Fair.

Betty graduated from Taneytown High School in 1953 and started working in local factories; Bornestein and Sons, Datacard, Craft World and English American.

Betty enjoyed cross stitch, bingo, puzzles as well as having family and friends over for picnics and swimming.

Betty was a lifelong member of Keysville Lutheran Church, Keysville MD and was the oldest living member.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 E. Baltimore Street Taneytown 21787. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jim Russell officiating.  Interment will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery in Keymar, Maryland.
