Brenda Ann Clapsaddle, age 73, of Taneytown, MD, passed away at Carroll Hospital Center. Born November 9, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Shirley (Welk) Clem.
Brenda enjoyed many jobs through the years, working for Westminster Knit, Giant Food in the deli department, and driving a school bus for many years.
Brenda was athletic and enjoyed playing and coaching many sports through the years. She played softball and basketball in high school and later played softball for the Taneytown Women’s Softball team. She also coached softball for Francis Scott Key High School girls team. She enjoyed gardening and seeing her flowers grow, and traveling and camping with her late husband, Mike and friends, visiting Civil War historical sites together. She had a love and soft heart for animals, particularly cats.
She is survived by sisters, Linda Warehime and husband Karl of Westminster, and Jackie Badiang and husband Jolly of Taneytown; sister-in-law, Bonnie Clapsaddle; nieces and nephews, Lisa Forney, David, and Jeffrey Eyler, Annette, and Dale Warehime, Jason, Jay, Joshua, Adonis, Adam, and Annamarie Badiang, Scott Clapsaddle; many great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her cats, Ashes, Callie, Ms Kitty and Tort
She was predeceased by her husband Michael Clapsaddle in 2017 and cousin, Drew Welk in 2025
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown (21787).
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. at Messiah United Methodist Church, 25 Middle St., Taneytown. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
