Carson Leslie Kelly, 79, of Fairfield, PA died Sunday, May 17th in Gettysburg, Pa. He was the son of the late Wilbur R. Kelly and Kathryn (Carson) Kelly. He is survived by Phyllis Kelly, his wife of 40 years.
Mr. Kelly is a graduate of Emmitsburg High School, class of 1965. Upon graduation, he immediately joined the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the 2nd Sentry Dog Platoon in Vietnam serving there from 1966-1968 (2 yrs/3months). After proudly serving the country which he loved, He was honorably discharged from the USMC as a Sgt.1969.
Mr. Kelly worked at Eastalco in Frederick, Mason Dixon Farms in Gettysburg, and Gettysburg Hospital. He was a long-time member of the Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church. He loved wood-working, farming, gardening/mowing, trapping, metal detecting, and fishing with his grandsons. He loved family holiday gatherings and their annual summer crab and shrimp feeds.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by; his son Matthew and Tracey Kelly of Gettysburg, Pa, son Darrin and Sharon Kelly of Taneytown, MD, step-son Marc and Deanna Houck of Sabvillesville, MD, step-son William and Samantha Houck of Baltimore, MD, daughter Jaime Kelly of Fairfield, PA, and step-daughter Nikki and Eric Bonner of Cumberland, MD. In addition, there are eighteen grand-children and seven great grand-children. He is also survived by two-brothers, Stephen F. Kelly of Emmittsburg, MD and Michael Kelly of Jack’s Creek, TN.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 5-8 p.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg, 210 West Main Street, 21727. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Cantley. Interment will be at Fairfield Union Cemetery, Fairfield, PA.
