Charlene Lavina Dorsey

Charlene Lavina Dorsey, 63, of Cooksville, MD, died February 19, 2026, at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Born September 13, 1962 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Merle Curtis Miles and Treva Elaine Myers Miles. Charlene was the devoted wife of Charles Franklin Dorsey.

Charlene graduated from Glenelg High School in 1981. She then went on to graduate from the Christian Heart Bible College and Seminary in Carroll County and became a Pastor. She had a bright, vibrant soul and loved the Lord. She made a prayer room in the houses that she lived in and would always offer to say a prayer for anyone. Charlene and her husband Chuck ran a food bank together out of their own home to take care of people who needed it. She also spent time out in the community in Baltimore handing out coats and blankets to the homeless. She enjoyed picking and eating crabs, her son Rashon’s good cooking, and buying turquoise jewelry. She loved to watch some of her favorite movies on TCM and tell everyone all about Mommy Dearest and To Kill A Mockingbird. Her family and her grandchildren were her delight and she loved to spoil them.

The family will receive friends on Saturday March 7, 2026 for a time of visitation at 11am with a Memorial Service at 12pm at Mt. Gregory United Methodist Church, 2325 Roxbury Mills Road Cooksville, MD. A second Memorial Service at her church and interment will be at a later date. Arrangements by MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A.
