Denise C. Stonesifer

August 11, 1955 — December 27, 2025

Denise Childers Stonesifer, 70, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the Dove House in Westminster, Maryland.

Denise was born on August 11, 1955, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of Champ and Hermie Childers. She was raised in Kite, Kentucky, where she learned the importance of family, responsibility, and compassion. Due to her mother’s health, Denise took on many responsibilities at a young age. These included caring for her younger siblings—an early reflection of the selflessness that would define her life.

Denise had a deep love for music, especially Conway Twitty and Elvis Presley. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to visit family and challenging loved ones to a game of ROOK. She also loved gardening, quilting, and spending cherished time with her grandchildren.

She was married to Stewart Stonesifer for 36 years. Together, they shared a life rooted in family and love.

A devoted mother, Denise worked tirelessly to provide a better life for her children, including putting herself through nursing school as a single parent. She went on to serve at Westminster Nursing Home for 24 years, where her warmth and professionalism left a lasting impact on residents and coworkers alike. On September 8, 2002, Denise was baptized alongside her three daughters—MaLisa Hampton, Tracy Harmon, and Chasity Krolicki. This moment marked a meaningful milestone in her faith journey and love for her Savior Jesus Christ.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Champ and Hermie Childers, and her sister, Donna Hamilton.

Denise is survived by her daughters, MaLisa Hampton, Tracy (Mike) Harmon, and Chasity (Derek) Krolicki; her siblings, Wanda (Larry) Short, Mark (Shelia) Childers, and Elvin (Lillian) Childers; her beloved grandchildren, Alicia Cook, Jamie Wisner, Brittni Trout, James Green Jr., CaSandra Bradshaw, Champ Harmon, BreAnna Harmon, Avalynn Krolicki, and Brylee Krolicki; as well as 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.

Denise will be remembered for her strength, compassion, infectious humor, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her care, her laughter, and her generous heart. She was greatly loved and will be missed beyond measure. Arrangements will be private. If desired, donations can be made in her honor to the Dove House in Westminster Maryland.
