Donna Hogan

Donna Hogan, age 86, of Alexandria, VA, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Sacred Heart Home in Hyattsville, MD.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan; her three granddaughters; Kristinia, Julia, and Ava, and her four great-grandchildren; Charlotte, Adrian, Lucy, and Olivia.

She was the loving wife of Edmund Hogan, who passed away in 1996. She is also predeceased by her beloved son; Joe, and her sister; Joan.

Donna grew up in Denver and Golden Colorado, attended St. Mary’s Academy, and graduated from St. Mary’s of Notre Dame in Indiana, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Culture. Her mother, Helen, was a suffragette, and her father, Bill, was a geologist for Standard Oil, university professor, and was affectionately dubbed Doc Rocks by his students.

Donna met Edmund at a Catholic singles dance in San Francisco, and they married within a year. They were best friends, loyal spouses, and they shared a love for the Catholic Faith and their family.

Donna lived in the Emmitsburg area from 1998 until 2008. She loved the Grotto in Emmitsburg, dachshunds, traveling, and shopping for a good deal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 11, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Emmitsburg. Burial will follow at New St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A.
