We mourn the passing of Elaine Jane (Chenault) Luhn, and yet we rejoice the going home of a Blameless Believer. At 11:14 p.m. Friday night, the 14th of October 2022, a warm, tender hand wrapped its way around hers and gently led her home, a home that He had prepared for her according to His promise.
She was born in Baltimore, MD June 24, 1956 to Charles Lee Chenault, Sr. and Shirley E. McElroy, both deceased.
Elaine will forever be remembered as a fun-loving person who loved being around people and making others smile, especially her immediate family. In her earlier years, she ran and operated "Elaine's Daycare". She was a longtime member of the Eagles in Littlestown, PA and the VFW Post#467, Westminster, MD, where she also tended bar part-time. She leaves behind daughters, Jackie E. Luhn, Lisa M. Luhn, both of Westminster, and Melissa A. Stonesifer (Shane Stonesifer), of Union Bridge, MD; siblings, Cynthia "Cindy" Roue (Tom Roue) of Berkely Springs, WV, Connie Warner (Larry Warner) of Hampstead, MD, Roger Chenault (Ellen Chenault), and Tommy Chenault of WV; grandchildren, Jaden M. Morgan, Xavier J. Shaffer, Hailey Stonesifer, and Ava E. Luhn; and many nieces and nephews. Elaine was also predeceased by longtime partner, Vernon L. Eyler; sisters, Evelyn M. Wilson of Littlestown, PA, and Debbie Callari of Taneytown; and brother, Charles L. Chenault, Jr of Taneytown, MD.
Services will be held at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore Street in Taneytown, MD, 21787.
