Elizabeth Alice Heffner Prise, 80, of Westminster, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at Sunflower Hill Assisted Living, Westminster.
Born Jan. 14, 1946, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Markwood S. and Mae E. (Hymiller) Heffner. She was predeceased by her husband, Gary A. Prise, in 2006.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara A. Rice, in 2000, and her brother, Timothy M. Heffner, in 2025.
Mrs. Prise was a 1964 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, Union Bridge. She attended Maryland General School of Nursing, Baltimore, graduating in 1967. She was a registered nurse in Carroll Hospital Center's medical/surgical unit for more than 42 years, retiring in 2010.
Mrs. Prise enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a fondness for lighthouses, which had been the focus of vacations with her husband. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting and cross-stitch.
She was a long-time Orioles fan, and had enjoyed a bird's-eye view of their 1966 World Series victory parade, which she watched from the window of her nursing school dormitory room.
She was a former member of Frizzellburg Bible Church, Frizzellburg; and later attended Church of the Open Door, Westminster, where she was a member of the Royal Blue Sunday School Class and Super Sixties.
Mrs. Prise is survived by her daughter, Stephanie L. Prise, of Westminster; sisters and brothers-in-law Janice M. and Dean A. Robertson, of New Windsor, and Lori D. and Clifford M. Peterson, of Littlestown, Pa.; sister-in-law, Connie L. Heffner, of Westminster; a number of nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 3 to 5 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 WILLIS ST., WESTMINSTER; as well as one hour prior to services. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13, at the funeral home, with the Rev. David L. Meador officiating. Interment will be at Pipe Creek Cemetery, Union Bridge.
Memorial contributions may be made to Frizzellburg Bible Church, 1905 Frizzellburg Road, Westminster, MD 21158; or to Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD 21157.
