Elizabeth Rose (Aldridge) Weimer, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Just shy of turning 97 years young.
She was born June 6, 1929, in Mount Savage, Maryland to Thomas and Nora (Cook) Aldridge. She married Stanley L. Weimer on October 2, 1947. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2024. Together they raised eight children on a dairy farm before moving to Gettysburg, PA.
A loving mother known for her cooking, baking, and making every holiday special. Having her family around her meant everything to her. She was a devoted member of Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church in Emmitsburg, MD. Rose enjoyed working as the manager of a German gift shop - Das Gift Haus for many years. She became the Internet Sales Manager for the Civil War artifacts The Horse Soldier, both located in Gettysburg, PA. Rosie reluctantly retired at 88. Rose was involved with homework, PTA, 4-H, FFA, and all the sports her children participated in. She was the driving force to have her children well educated to succeed in life. Rosie was an avid gardener, reader and shared the train travel adventures she enjoyed with her mom, instilling a sense of adventure for all of us.
Rose was a graduate of Beall High School. She played the piano and organ in church, trumpet in the marching band and was a soloist for the high school jazz band. She loved to dance and met the love of her life Stanley at a dance.
In recent years she thoroughly enjoyed reviewing updates on Facebook and getting email, playing cards, board games, and puzzles along with watching the Game Show Network, Movie and Sports TV channels. She was grateful for visits and assistance from so many of the Tom’s Creek family. She looked forward to spending time with her friends and sharing stories.
Her family was the joy of her life. She is survived by her children: Rebecca (Joseph) Kerr, Thurmont, MD, John (Donna) Weimer, Williamsport, MD, Sharon Gentile, Glen Rock, PA, Susan Trice, Fairfield, PA, Michael (Cindy) Weimer, Emlenton, PA, Naomi (George) Knight, Airville, PA, Jennifer (Robert) Gabel, Newport, PA, a niece Dottie Sowers, along with 13 grandchildren: Steve, Jeff, Carrie, Brooke, Kristina, Heather, Candice, Cameron, Sarah, Spencer, Amber, Thomas, and Jason. The family expanded to include 17 great grandchildren: Zach, Ella, Mike, Lucy, Molly, Emma, Grace, Evie, Neely, Myra, Lena, Levi, Lauren, Daniel, Charlotte, Mason, and Madeline.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Weimer, and granddaughters Rachel and Leah Weimer.
The family would like to thank neighbor Ruthie Fitzgerald, who became a dear friend and went above and beyond to help Rosie after Stanley passed. We also appreciated the caregivers from Home Instead for their support with homemaking duties.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rose’s home church, Tom's Creek United Methodist Church, 10926 Simmons Road, Emmitsburg, MD on June 13, 2026, with visitation at 11 a.m. followed by the service at noon. The church family will provide lunch following the service.
