Emily Jacqueline Spencer

Emily Jacqueline Spencer, 29, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, formerly of Hanover, Pennsylvania, and Westminster, Maryland, passed away on August 27, 2026. She was born on July 17, 1997, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Brian Scott Spencer and Lisa Marie Spencer Sell.

Emily was a 2015 graduate of South Western High School and later graduated from Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She enjoyed reading, spending time with friends and family, scrapbooking, fishing, watching horror movies, and crime-investigation series. She was also a devoted Baltimore Ravens fan.

Emily will be remembered and deeply missed by her mother, Lisa M. Spencer Sell; stepfather, Curt Sell; fiancé, Cody Spears of Surfside Beach, South Carolina; sister, Heidi Spencer; brothers, Logan Sell, Jordan Sell and his wife, Kiersten Sell, Brandon Sell, and Ryan Sell; aunt, Sharon Spencer-Kable; paternal grandmother, Catherine Spencer; and nieces Scarlett Sell, Madelyn Sell, and Claire Sell.

She was preceded in death by her father, Brian S. Spencer; paternal grandfather, Frank Spencer; maternal grandfather, Edward Coffey; and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Lindardi.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, Maryland 21157. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, Emily will be laid to rest at Sandy Mount United Methodist Church, 2101 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, Maryland 21048.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to local substance-abuse treatment facilities in Emily’s memory.

Emily’s life touched those who knew and loved her, and she will be remembered for the time she shared with her family and friends, the interests she enjoyed, and the memories she leaves behind.
