Eugene Hamilton Gill, Jr.

Eugene Hamilton Gill, Jr., 74, of Taneytown, MD, passed away on December 14, 2025. Born September 4, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Eugene Hamilton Gill, Sr. and Virginia Gill nee Haines. He was the devoted husband of Linda Gill, his wife of 43 years.

Eugene proudly served in the United States Air Force and Army before becoming a Deputy Sheriff for Carroll County in 1982. He diligently served the community for over 20 years before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and target shooting and was deeply devoted to his faith. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, survived by his daughter Elizabeth Bruns and husband, Tom; son, Reuben Gill and wife, Mariah; grandchildren, Rylie Wartluft, Lyndi Wartluft, Levi, Karis, Benjamin, Elise, and Eden, and sister, Marsha Smith.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 22, 2025, from 2-4:00 PM, and 6-8:00 PM, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A., 136 E Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787.
