Father Eddie Michael Blue

Eddie Michael Blue died Tuesday February 10, 2026, at Carroll Hospital in Westminster, Maryland.

He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 15, 1950, shortly before his twin brother, sons of the late Johnnie Garrett Blue.

After graduating from Shortridge High School in 1968, he continued his education at Indiana University in Bloomington; where in l968 he earned a BA in Religious Studies. He received a Masters of Divinity from Bexley Hall Seminary in 1979.

Eddie was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church and served two parishes in Philadelphia. For 33 years he was the rector of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Baltimore, Maryland.

He was married to Lucy Brady for 44 years. He was a loving husband and dedicated parent to three children, Jair Cox, the late Nathaniel Cox, and Charity Hall. He adored his grandchildren, Kaitlin Cox Derek Cox, Journey Vanderveer, Dublin Vanderveer, and Thomas Clark.

Eddie was predeceased by his brother, Mitchell Ewing Blue, and sister Deborah Elizabeth Jones. He is survived by a brother Johnnie Blue, two sisters, Ava Hamilton and Cynthia Blue, as well as a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Eddie loved learning, music, writing songs, sports of all kinds, and driving his truck.

His subtle sense of humor, his interest in all things theological, and his deep faith, were at the core of Eddie's life.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, 23 North Court Street, Westminster, Maryland. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
