Frances Loretta Hemler, nee Cool, age 96 of Taneytown, MD, died peacefully at her home. Born February 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late George Joseph and Alice Cool, nee Topper.
Frances was the beloved mother of George R. Hemler III and his wife Kak of South Dennis, MA, F. Christine Hammond of Stewartstown, PA, David A. Hemler and his wife Elaine of Westminster, MD, Angela T. Eyler and her husband Greg of Union Bridge, MD, Joseph V. Hemler and his wife Lisa of Taneytown, MD, and Mary S. Linden of Stewartstown, PA,; loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren, and devoted great grandmother to 22 great grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 78 years, she volunteered with The Ladies Sodality, Red Cross and the March of Dimes. She was a caregiver to countless people, sharing her love and compassion. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a talented and gifted artist of ceramics and acrylic painting, her artistry focused on the beauty of nature. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sudoku, Scrabble, and jigsaw puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband of 75 years, George Robert Hemler, Sr., in 2021, daughter, Mary Patricia Hemler, and infant children, George R. Hemler, Jr., and Frances B. Hemler.
A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. with the sharing of her eulogy beginning at 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Taneytown. Interment to follow mass at St. Joseph Cemetery.
