Geneva Diane Hamm

Geneva Diane Hamm, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. She was born on October 5, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Emil Franklin and Margaret “Mollie” Evans. Diane was the loving wife of Michael Hamm, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. In her early years, she worked as a paralegal, but her greatest and most cherished role was that of wife, mother, and Mommom. Diane treasured her family and found immense joy in being a mother and grandmother. Her children meant the world to her, and she would do anything and everything she could to show up for them. She played a tremendous role in the lives of her grandchildren, adored them and loved being there to help them grow. She was known for being organized, dependable, and was always there to support those she loved with arms wide open. She loved to organize celebrations for family and friends. Her family was the center of her world, and the love and care she gave them will forever remain a lasting part of their lives. In addition to her husband, Michael, Diane is survived by her son, Michael Hamm and his wife, Cynthia, of Westminster, Maryland; son Joshua Hamm; grandchildren Cora Noel Knight-Hamm and her husband, Matthew, of Morgantown, West Virginia, London Marie and Skylar Thomas Hamm of Westminster; and her siblings, Emil Cornett Evans, Sr., of Sykesville, Maryland, Delores Mae Evans Franklin, of Green Valley, Arizona, Deborah Lynn Evans, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, and Denise Carol Evans Dennis, of Orlando, Florida. Diane was preceded in death by her beloved son, Matthew Hamm, and her sister, Shirley Jeanette Evans Thomas. Diane’s greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply. She will be remembered for her devotion to her husband, her children and grandchildren, her strength, her caring heart, and the countless ways she was always there for those she loved. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, August 28, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A., 136 E. Baltimore Street (21787). A Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm. with Rev. Virgil Cain officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville, Maryland.
