George (Jerry) Kowalczyk, age 87, passed away on February 10, 2026.

He was born on September 5, 1938, in Schenectady, New York. Jerry was the son of the late Joseph and Stefania Kaczmarczyk Kowalczyk. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Pauline Kowalczyk.

Jerry was a man of strong and steady faith. His relationship with God was the foundation of his life, guiding his words, his decisions, and his service to others. He lived his beliefs daily — not only in prayer, but in action — showing kindness, humility, and grace to everyone he met. He shared a beautiful marriage with his beloved wife, Pauline, built on love, faith, laughter, and unwavering commitment. He was present, patient, and wise. He led by example, teaching his children not only through his words but through the integrity of his life. He offered guidance without judgment, discipline with compassion, and love without condition. He was intelligent and thoughtful, always eager to learn and ready to share his knowledge to help others grow. He had a gift for making others feel seen and accepted. He listened deeply, forgave quickly, and gave generously of his time and wisdom. His legacy is one of faith, love, strength, and selfless service. Though he will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught and the love he shared will live on in all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his children, Susan (Richard) Boschert, Gail (Tom) Kroger, Mary (Gary) Rottman, Joe (Jodi) Kowalczyk, Amy (Mike) Meyer-Crouse, Cathy (Andy) Whitfield and daughter-in-law Rose Kowalczyk. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who had the honor of calling him “Pop-Pop”. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Kowalczyk and son-in-law, Rick Meyer, and sisters Blanche Prudent, Emily Grzybowski, Regina Weisheit, brother Father Joseph Kowalczyk and grandchildren, Alex Kowalczyk, Joseph Kowalczyk and Anna Joy Whitfield.
