Gordon Mayer, Jr., 82, of Westminster, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Gilchrist Hospice in Columbia. Born December 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Gordon Mayer, Sr. and Helen Woyick, nee Tinkler. He was the husband to Linda J. Mayer, nee Shamer for 57 ½ years.
He was the Brakeman for the CSX Railroad, Chessie System. He was in the United States Navy for four years, and traveled both oceans during that time. He was an avid collector of art glass. Gordon loved gardening and his roses.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Robert Mayer and Laura Kittle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter Michele Bowers.
Services are private. Arrangements by MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., Westminster.
