Helen Augusta France, aged 85, died September 1, 2023, at her home.
Born in Baltimore to Helen and Alfred France, Helen had 5 siblings; predeceased by sisters Alfreda and Dorothea and brothers Howard and Alfred Jr and is survived by her brother John Paul. Helen herself had 7 children, and is survived by her sons Stephen Heinrich, Timothy Heinrich, and Keller Wolfe, and daughter Elizabeth (Wolfe) Kraft, having been predeceased by her daughters Helen Uliana "Joy" Wolfe and Laura D.S. (Heinrich) Aubol, and her son Jonathan Heinrich. Helen also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen received an associate degree from Carroll Community College at age 58 and worked as a physical therapist assistant for the elderly and disabled until her retirement at age 70. Helen was also very active in her church as eucharistic minister, lector, member and president of the Sodality, an advocate for social justice, and most enjoyed singing in the church choir as well as many years with the Taneytown Community Chorus. Helen also enjoyed art, writing, and tending to her lush, voluptuous gardens.
Visitation services will be held at Myers Durboraw Funeral Home 136 East Baltimore St. Taneytown, MD, Monday September 11th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Requiem Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church 44 Frederick St. Taneytown, MD, Tuesday September 12th at 11a.m. Her Eulogy with be held at 10:30 prior to the mass. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Reception to be held at St. Joseph' church hall following the service Tuesday.
