Jane Frances Leahy

Jane Frances Leahy, 68, of Taneytown, MD, passed unexpectedly at her home on March 20, 2025. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Shettle and Evelyn (nee Reisler) Shettle. She was the loving wife of Sean Leahy, married 37 years.

Jane was a wife, caregiver, mother, sister, and MiMom. Her door was always open and she was always prepared to feed everyone. She was an Irish American patriot who loved dogs, especially Newfoundlands, cooking, baking, sewing and caring for people.

Besides her husband, Sean, she is survived by her daughters, Kathryn, Mairin, Megan, and Mary Kate, her grandchildren, Landon, Isabelle, Keira, Liam, Michael, Lochlan, Conall, and Dana, her siblings Mary Ellen, Julie, Maureen, Michael, Ann, Charles, Peter, and Mark, her beloved dogs, Grizz and Flynn, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at  Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD, on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 1 p.m. The family will receive family and friends from 11a.m. until the time of the service.
