She remained active in her community through the Taneytown, Thurmont, and Emmitsburg Senior Centers and, in recognition of her selfless service, was honored as Carroll County’s Volunteer of the Year in 1994 for her many hours with Pets on Wheels.
Above all else, Jeanie was the heart and backbone of her family. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Canasta, gardening, and lovingly spoiling her pets.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Kline and husband Dale of Westminster, and George Shifflett and wife Joy of Littlestown; grandchildren, Dale Jr., Joshua and Samuel Kline, George Thomas, Benjamin, Todd and Kurtis Shifflett; and 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sally Smith.
