Joyce Ann Philpott, 76, of Emmitsburg, passed away peacefully at the Gettysburg Center surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 30, 2025. Born on Friday, May 6, 1949, to the late Avery Kline and Sarah Kline née Glacken in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Joyce was a proud Emmittsburg resident and enjoyed her deep connection to the community. She graduated from Emmitsburg High School in 1967 and maintained her friendships from her youth throughout her life. She had monthly meetings with her “High School Girls” and yearly attended the school’s banquets. In addition, she was a lifelong Church of the Incarnation United Church of Christ member and worked for many years as a Nursing Assistant for the Daughters of Charity. She had a great joy for life, enjoying bingo, traveling and had a soft heart for animals, particularly her pet dogs.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Philpott and Lisa Ann Philpott of Emmitsburg; her cherished brother, Charles Kline of Emmitsburg; and her beloved dogs, Makenzie and Bacon.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 210 W. Main St, Emmitsburg (21727). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation U.C.C., 124 W. Main St, Emmitsburg (21727). The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Grace Rocky Hill Cemetery – Woodsboro, 10825 Coppermine Rd, Woodsboro (21798).
