Judith E. “Judy” Gerwig, 87, of Taneytown, MD, died September 10, 2025 at York Hospital in York, PA. Born December 10, 1937, in San Diego, CA, she was the daughter of the late Clellan and Nan C. Keefe, nee Welling. She was the devoted wife of the late William Thomas “Bill” Gerwig.
Judy was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Taneytown, MD, and worked as an Executive Secretary for Random House.
Surviving are children, Jeffrey and wife Karen Barrett, and Timothy and wife Diane Gerwig; brother, James Forrest; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Judy was predeceased by sister, Lavinia Gigliotti; and brother, William Keefe.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 44 Frederick Street, Taneytown, MD 21787, With Father John Ward officiating. Interment of the urn will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
