Kathy Anne Rockwell

Kathy Anne Rockwell, age 71, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away on Thursday October 1, 2026, in Fisherville, VA. Born December 14, 1954, in Staunton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel W. Walter and the late Janet Katherine Frend (Trainum).

She is survived by brothers , Charles Richard Frend, Charleston SC, James R. Frend, Odeton MD, Michael A. Frend, Waynesboro VA, sister Susan Gandy (Frend), Waynesboro VA, stepsons, Vance L. Rockwell. Westminster MD, and Keith W. Rockwell, Thurmont MD.,She is also survived by loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Kathy was predeceased by her husband Wallace Layton Rockwell, brother, Daniel W. Frend Jr. and stepson Todd L. Rockwell. 

Special thanks to Christina Moore (Frend) and Laura Baker (Womble) for the many hours spent in the hospital with her over the last month.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026 4:30-5:30 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westmisnter, MD and a Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery, 9436 Waynesboro Pike, Emmitsburg, 21727. Rev. David Meador will be officiating.
